Resisting coloniality in systems thinking

Systems in general […] are composed of people, animated by power and imbibed with purpose. […]. This makes systems thinking an inherently political exercise. External intervenors especially are prone to see themselves as objective problem-solvers with the knowledge/expertise to design systems for the good of marginalised people. But the critical ones among us must ask: From whose perspective? Whose knowledge/expertise? “Good” according to who? By asking these questions, we can remedy our colonial blindness that allows us to acknowledge and tackle system-shaping forces.
